ABOUT ABS:  Advanced Blending Solutions is a full service manufacturer of blending and material handling systems for the Plastics Industry. ABS's corporate office and manufacturing facility is located in Wallace, MI and it has state of the art fabrication, machining, and panel building facilities. We are looking for an ASSEMBLER-2ND SHIFT to join our production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys the satisfaction of assembling parts to create a finished product and would like to contribute to the company's growth.  

Position Overview: The assembler produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment
  • Support and comply with company's quality policies

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Complete training to become forklift certified within 30 days
  • Able to lift 75 pounds

 Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
