ABS's corporate office and manufacturing facility is located in Wallace, MI and it has state of the art fabrication, machining, and panel building facilities. We are looking for an INVENTORY SUPERVISOR to join our production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a person skilled in inventory processes who likes to coach others to achieve objectives.  

Position Overview:  The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the accurate control, accounting and physical flow of materials, equipment, and supplies to and from the company's inventory warehouse, while ensuring in-house manufacturing personnel are supplied with the proper parts and/or materials in a timely manner.


  • Manages the picking schedule, tracker, and inventory staff to ensure adequate resources are dispersed to production staff in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Tracks parts as they flow through the production process; ensures parts are being fabricated, assembled, and painted within the time frame necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Issues supplies and materials to production staff; manually pre-picks stock items from multi-level racking as specified in Work Order documents; completes all necessary paperwork for stock items issued.
  • Utilizes ERP software system to properly account for items issued and returned; inputs essential data on all materials handled; adheres to accounting procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels of finished equipment and components.
  • Provides monthly status report on aging inventory and current inventory financials.
  • Maintains physical condition of inventory department by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Manages and/or conducts physical counts and reconciles with software system.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces operational processes and procedures for the inventory department.
  • Manages delivered supplies, materials, and equipment; confirms that delivered goods match purchase order specifications of quantity, condition, model number, etc.
  • Safeguards contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

Skills & Qualifications (Required):

  • Ability to effectively coach and supervise others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize company ERP software system
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Forklift certified or become certified within 30 days
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
  • Organized and detail oriented; effective use of time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in related field and/or 1-3 years of inventory control experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
